OrCA Blues Band

We’re here to raise oral cancer awareness through music!  Led by Dr. Larry Hamburg, a survivor himself, we want to defeat oral cancer by raising awareness and stopping it before it can start.  We’re a five piece band with two guitarists, a bassist, a drummer, and a percussionist. We play together to accomplish one thing-raise awareness about oral cancer through fundraising events.

Larry Hamburg - Guitar/Vocals

Doctor Larry, as he is known around the community, has his roots solidly in the classic Southern Rock (ex Allman Brothers) genre, though he is also well-versed in more contemporary music, performing songs recorded by bands like Dave Mathews, Ben Harper, and Chris Stapleton. His interest in the electric guitar began around 1969, when he saw Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page for the first time. He has been playing in rock bands since. Larry’s bands have always donated any proceeds to various charitable organizations, most recently becoming vehicles through which to spread awareness of oral cancer. He formed the OrCA Blues Band twelve years ago, after being personally diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer; OBB and OrCoustic have played throughout the Mid-Hudson area, to spread awareness of this terrible disease, ever since.

Honorary Member - Jamie Hamburg - Guitar/Vocals

Currently living in California, a graduate from Berklee College of Music (the number one contemporary music college in the US), he graduated with high honors in only three years, making his father (and his fathers accountant) very happy. Jamie has been making music with various instruments (guitar, keyboard, bass, saxophone, drums, and more), since he could walk. He played guitar in the Arlington High School band (Arlington Jazz Machine), and was selected to represent that school as all-state for jazz. He has produced two EP’s and is focusing on his engineering and producing passions, while backing up his girlfriend, Emma Charles, on her national tour. He plays lead guitar and performs vocals for OrCoustic and the OrCA Blues Band when he is visiting home.
